Year 3
Year 3 are looking for any parent volunteers who would be willing to come in once a week and hear some children read! Please let Mr Pounder know if you are interested. The Year 3 team would be extremely grateful.
Thank you
Hi All,
Many thanks for those parents for raising a few points about Elder's DT trip transport and clashing with VE day. As a school we do our best to plan trips and visits very carefully, and this trip to Great Marlow is one the children in Year 3 have enjoyed for the past couple of years.
We do try to get the balance right between parental drop-offs where practical and coach travel, which, as I'm sure you can understand is easier, but adds significantly to the cost of any trip - sometimes more than £14 per child - even for a 'local' visit. This additional cost will preclude some children from attending the trip. A few parents have come to me and said they are more than happy to take other children if needed, so please ask around or let me know if you are struggling.
As for missing VE day, so Elder don't miss out on the non-uniform element, Elder are permitted to wear red, white and blue on Friday 9th May instead for anyone who would like to. Mr Stevens is also going to come out to the flag pole with Elder on the Friday to give the same message as Thursday.
Mr Pounder
Year 3 Swimming is on a Wednesday morning beginning 30th April. Please ensure children bring their swimming costume, towel and (optional-goggles) every Wednesday.
Homework is changing a little, there will no longer be a homework grid to choose an option from. In its place will be an optional literacy piece stuck into the children's homework book each Friday. It would be amazing if you could encourage your child to have a go as it will be work linking/consolidating work we have been doing in the classroom.
Here you will find all the information relating to Year 3, and we will continue to add things as we move through the year. Please check the class page on a Monday for any messages/information for that week. You will also find key dates and pictures of our learning.
Please feel free to come and find us on the playground if you have any questions, or email/call the office.
